Morning Rain (for piano and Max/MSP) premiered at ACL concert

My interactive music composition Morning Rain (for piano and Max/MSP) was premiered at the 29th Asian Composers League Conference and Festival. The concert in which Morning Rain was performed was also one of the events in WOCMAT 2011, which took place at Taiwan Normal University in Taipei on December 2, 2011.

Morning Rain (for piano and interactive music system with Max/MSP) was composed during 2010-2011. It portrays the soundscape of morning rain in winter which is mixed with illusion and reality, and is blurred by the listener's vague consciousness when he is half-awake. The main real-time DSP effects used in this piece include reverb, delay, and filter mainly controlled by phrase onset, note density, accent detection. The piano pedal is also frequently used throughout the piece to help create the dreamy effect.
